Since its inception in 1991, EPS has been working closely with the communities of the region, which is because of its belief that the activities initiated at community’s level are more viable and sustainable, provided that they are technically supported. In the light of the field experiences, this fact came to the surface that the local communities can play pivotal role in the physical development of their respective areas, provided they are properly mobilized and their developmental initiatives are technically supported. Technical and Engineering Unit provides technical support to the activities of EPS and its partner CBOs. EPS aims to identify a community through the Technical Unit where it can develop infrastructure best suited to the area and the need of the people. Technical Unit also carries surveys and provides support and estimates to CBOs and communities at their requests.
In 2004 by the decision of the Council of EPS the T&E unit was authorized to provide technical inputs to private sector on payment. The unit has the capacity and capability to develop plans for houses, other buildings and towns, do physical surveys, cost estimates and supervision of construction.
