REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

Urban Planning Management Support (UPSMP):
In collaboration with IUED, Geneva University Switzerland EPS started the UPSMP in October 1996. The project was completed in June 2000 with approximate value of Rs. 1700000/-

Aims of the Project:

This was action research project aimed at to study issues related with the environmental management and governance of the city and to suggest alternatives with the active involvement of local communities/stakeholders.

Activities:

  1. Socio-economic survey of Mingora City.
  2. Solid Waste Management survey of Mingora City.
  3. Sanitation Survey of Mingora City.
  4. Traffic Survey of Mingora City.
  5. Housing & Planning Issues Survey of Mingora City.
  6. Institutional arrangement Survey of Mingora City.
  7. Formation of Mingora Male & Female Round Table for conceptual planning of Mingora City.
  8. Supported Universities students research in the related disciplinarians.
  9. Participatory Planning Process was carried out in two urban communities to involve the locals in problems identification, prioritization and implementations
  10. More than 200 Activists were identified to generate self-help initiatives at Mingora city level
