REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

Interns’ Scheme:
This project was implemented in collaboration with Primary Education Project (PEP) Govt. of NWFP through British Council Peshawar.  The project started in March  2000 and was completed June  2001 with approximate value of Rs. 194000/-

Aims of the Project:

Department for International Development (DFID) initiated Interns Scheme through the British Council, Peshawar and selected Four NGOs in NWFP to carryout the project and EPS was selected. The scheme aimed at introducing the concept of social organization in education sector. Two Interns (Trainee Social Organizers) were placed in EPS while two Social Organizers of EPS were deputed as Mentors to supervise the work of the Interns.

Activities:

  1. DFID through British Council organized intensive training workshops on different development related topics for the Interns and Mentors to develop/enhance their skills and hence build the capacity of the Organization.
  2. Cross visits to other developmental organizations for experience sharing.
  3. Children and parent survey carried out by Interns of EPS.
