REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

Human and Institutional Development:
This project was completed in collaboration with Swiss NGOs Program Office (SNPO) Islamabad. The project started in October 1998 and ended in August 2003.

Aims of the Project:
The Project purpose was to strengthen the capacity of CBOs to become self-managed, self-sustained; socially acceptable, technically sound and financially viable institutions in the area of their work so as to transform the concept of sustainable development into practice.

Activities:
Under this Program EPS trained +450 activists of different CBOs of Malakand Division in “Basic Skills Development (BSD)”, “Project Proposal Writing (PPW)”, Social Organization Training (SOT)”, “Village Activists and Financial Management Training” and “CBO Management Training”. The Project also carried out programs related to women development. This includes, Training in Poultry Development, Fruit Preservation Training, Food Processing Training, Workshops/Seminars pertaining to women issues, celebration of women and earth days. Several workshop were also organized under this program on different related issues.
