REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

Construction of Garbage Dumps:
The Ministry of Environment Local Govt. & Rural Development Govt. of Pakistan assisted in EPS in the construction of Garbage Dumps in the Mingora Municipality area. The project started in July 1998 and was completed in July 1999. Approximate value of the project was Rs. 100000/-

Activities:
Under this Program garbage dumps were constructed at different places in Mingora city. The project was carried out jointly with Municipal Committee and the communities concerned to ensure its proper use and sustainability.
  1. Ten garbage dumps were constructed at different sites in Mingora.
  2. Sweepers workshop was organized
  3. Report on solid waste management was prepared
