REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

7.5        Health and Hygiene
Environmental health along with personal and communal hygiene was one of the top priorities of EPS since the beginning but after the earthquake of October 8, 2005, EPS took the initiatives of providing primary health cover to the affecties of District Shangla in collaboration with CARE International in Pakistan. Besides medical camps, EPS organize health and hygiene sessions and impart training to medical personnel, especially Mid wives and traditional birth attendants. EPS has signed memorandum of understanding with health department Swat, Shangla and Batagram districts and strengthened Bisham Civil Hospital by providing medical equipments and furniture to the hospital. EPS in collaboration with JSI-USAID has also established a Birthing Center in an underserved area of Swat to provide health services to mothers and newborns.
