REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

The 9th Community Managerial Skills Training (CMST) was held on 13 to 15 September 2011, at EPS sub-office Watkai Mingora. 21 participants from 12 COs attended the course. The workshop was followed by the series of dialogues with the community, aiming to exchange information and ideas and to reach a mutual decision leading to the development of the community. The presentations were followed by discussions and explanations; similarly the group works were followed by plenary session for presenting outcomes of the groups. Simultaneously, participants also provided feedback on the training materials to make them more useful for future use. The training has been successful in creating awareness among the participants. Now they are more clear as to what they need to do upon their return to their COs in and how they can be the agent of awareness and change there. Moreover, the workshop has given the participants an opportunity to practice the behaviours of effective community managers and they have learned how to deal confidently in a variety of situations and recognized social mobilization at the grass-roots level as a constructive process.
