EPS in collaboration with Concern Worldwide has successfully imparted employable skills trainings to 200 vulnerable and flood affected beneficiaries in union councils Kalam and Utror, Tehsil Bahrain, District Swat (10th September 2011).
EPS in partnership with Concern Worldwide started “Early Recovery Support for Flood Affected Population in union councils Kalam and Utror (ERSFAF Project)” in May 2011 which will continue till 31st December 2011. Distribution ceremony was held on 10th September 2011, in union council Utror and on 11th September 2011 in union council Kalam. In these distribution ceremonies; a trade specific toolkit, cash for trainings and a course completion certificate were handed over to 200 vocational skills trainees. These 200 trained individuals includes 100 female in the trade of tailoring & embroidery work, 50 male each in electrician and plumbing selected from both the target union councils. After the completion of these trainings, the trained individuals will be linked with market for employment opportunity and a service delivery plan has been prepared with each of the trained individual. In this way the project on early recovery in Kalam and Utror supported 200 families being the poor of the poorest, vulnerable and sole breadwinner which will ensure their maximum food security on sustainable basis
