REHABILITATION CAMPS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Environmental Protection Society (EPS) organized 25 days Free Rehabilitation Camps for the People with Disabilities from 4th to 28th of July 2011 in three Union Councils of District Swat i.e. U/C Kanju, U/C Koza Bandai and U/C Tootano Bandai.

10 Days Workshop on Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas.

Exposure Visit
EPS Disability team visited HANDS (Health And Nutrition Development Society) Visit to Karachi for exposure to the medical camps arranged for the PWDs at UC Landhi and UC Rehri from 27 April to 03 May 2011. The purpose of the visit was to participate in the medical camps arranged for PWDs and get experience before the implementation of the medical camps in their targeted areas. During the camps, medical assessment of persons with disabilities was done by the Medical experts in all the blocks. Four types of disabilities were analyzed by experts such as; Hearing & Speech impairment, Visual impairment, Psychological problems, Physical impairment.
Overall, the medical camps ran smoothly and were deemed a success by all involved. The HANDS staff and volunteers did an excellent job in organizing and maintaining the medical camps for PWDs.
