EPS Disability team attended 10 days workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups” from May 17-28, 2011 at ECI Islamabad. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the staff regarding Sustainable Livelihood & Enterprise Development for Vulnerable Groups and to provide them an opportunity to practice these guidelines for business incubations in the targeted areas. The workshop was designed to enable participants to understand:
- Development Issues & Challenges for the Marginalized & Vulnerable
- Sustainable Livelihood Framework
- Business concepts of Poverty Reduction & Enterprise Development
- Market Analysis based on value chain Research
- Business Nuts & Bolts: Marketing, Accounts, Management (Self & Others)
- Developing Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies
- Experiential Learning through the “Business Creation Exercise”
- Designing Effective Livelihood Interventions for Vulnerable Groups
- Monitoring Evaluation & Creative Documentation
EPS staff comprising of Supervisor Disability, two female CRWs and one male CRW attended the workshop. The training was very useful as it helped the staff in the capacity building regarding sustainable livelihood & enterprise development for PWDs and POPs. It will help the participants in the implementation of business incubation activities with the PWDs in the targeted areas.
The workshop was highly interactive and hands on and were well received by the participants. Whereas the overall rating of workshop was excellent. The participants showed great interest in training and showed their eagerness to play their role in their target areas.
