The partnership besides some soft components emphasis on construction of accessible WASH facilities for vulnerable persons including Persons with Disability. Persons with Injuries and Elderly persons. Under the partnership the EPS is mandated to construct /modify 300 accessible latrines and 100 bathing places in the selected union councils of district Swat and Buner.

The identification of beneficiaries in the target area of Swat and Buner started soon after the capacity of EPS team was built on accessibility. So far more than 200 cases have been identified in both Swat and Buner districts. Out of the total identified cases 72 were sent to Handicap International for validation and were get approved.

 The procurement of the material was conducted in professional manner and procurement team of Handicap International was kept involved in the selection of suppliers and procurement of material.

The construction of accessible latrine/bathing places in Swat has started, while in district Buner the construction will be started the next week.

The Handicap International team visited the under construction facilities and appreciated the work carried out so far. The people of the locality have also appreciated the initiative taken by EPS/HI regarding the construction/modification of accessible WASH facilities. The steps taken by both the organization will also mobilize other WASH actors in the area to follow suit.
