A joint experience sharing workshop was arranged by Environmental Protection Society and Pakistan Safe Drinking Water & Hygiene Promotion Project at EPS Conference Hall.

 All the stakeholders of the project in the targeted area attended the workshop. The Coordinator Capacity Building highlighted the project objectives to the participants. The coordinator explained the importance of the safe drinking water and water born diseases in the rural areas of District Swat, particularly in the targeted union Councils. The Coordinator told the participants that EPS has imparted three different trainings to Water filtration Plants, Tube Wells operators, TMA management and PHED management staff. The workshop was aimed to control the issues related to drinking water. The Tehsil Municipal Officer was the chief guest .He praised the efforts of the Environmental protection Society and Pakistan Safe Drinking Water-Hygiene Promotion Project in this regard and assured that TMA would coordinate with Government and Non-Governmental organization to minimize the chronic situation of water in the jurisdiction of TMA. The TMO thanked EPS for providing and sharing the Water quality testing reports with TMA. He told that the TMA Swat had forwarded the said reports to UNICEF and WHO and had requested them to provide financial and technically support to TMA Swat. The Regional Manager of “Clean Drinking Water for All projects” (CDWA) also attended the workshop and explained the importance of the Water Filtration Plants in District Swat installed by the CDWA Project. The Sub-Engineer of PHED Swat also expressed his views about the supply of water and further expressed that safe and un-contaminated water is must for the locality, to control diarrhea and other water born diseases. He told that PHED & TMA both can play vital role in this regard.
